To display review stars for your business on Google, your company must have a Google My Business (GMB) listing, and you must have (logically) already received reviews from customers.
If that’s not the case – here are the necessary steps to show Google reviews.
- Create a Google My Business Account
To list your business, visit the GMB website and click on “Add Business.” Enter the required information, such as name, address, and category. Sometimes, your business may already be automatically listed by Google, and you only need to request access to it. - Verify Your Business Ownership
Next, Google will usually ask you to verify your ownership. There are several verification methods to choose from. You may receive the verification code via a call to the registered business phone number, via email, or sometimes by mail. If it’s by mail, you may need to allow some time for delivery. - Ask Your Customers for Reviews
To receive reviews, you can actively ask your customers to leave a review on your GMB page. Google provides a direct link to your business’s Google review page, which you can use.
You can also share a link to your GMB page in email signatures, on your website, or on social media. We recommend: be proactive and ask your customers for reviews! - Respond to Reviews
A kind reply never hurts! - Check if the Reviews Are Published
After receiving reviews, you should check if they have been published on your GMB page. Sometimes, they may not appear. For example, if links or unformatted images are found in your customers’ reviews. If a review is published, the review stars will be displayed in Google search results.
Another guarantee that review stars will appear in search results is that your business information on GMB is up to date. This includes adding photos, descriptions, and opening hours.
So, always keep it updated!
